Focusing on speaking daily affirmations of love and life to my husband, my children, and others come rather easily for me. I want them to know, through my words and actions, they are loved and valued.
Unfortunately, the same amount of effort I put into speaking words of encouragement to others is sometimes lost on me.
I see my flaws. I see the moments I missed. I see the 7 pounds I gained. I see correspondence I meant to mail. All those words of kindness go out the door and I start feeling like a failure. Do you relate at all?
In those private moments, words of grace and life sometimes are hard to find.
Because I had this negative inner dialogue, I sometimes allowed others to feed into it too. Others who would say, “Yeah, you are forever messing things up” or “You weren’t there when I needed you.” I became more aware of how I allowed others to talk to me about me. Suddenly, these everyday phrases were doing something to my heart in an ugly way.

Something had to change. I dug into God’s word. I made lists of who God says I am. When you know who you are, you walk differently. Since then, I’ve learned the more I speak kindness, grace, hope, and love to myself it overflows into my relationship with others.
So let’s talk about the three positive, daily affirmations I tell myself every day.
Daily affirmation #1: I am uniquely created.
I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know full well Psalm 139; 14
Look around girl. The same sunset that held you in awe with God’s splendor because He is a great maker is the same great God who made your beautify body. He knew your hips would spread so two beautiful girls would be birthed through you. He knows about the rolls on your belly. He sprinkled those freckles across your cheeks. He gave you that big, warm, inviting smile. He knew you would be a size 12. How could we dare look at God’s beauty outside, then come home and think God messed up his creation with us?
Nah, friend —YOU are Amazing.
Stop seeing yourself from a place of lack, or even ugliness. Stand up, look at yourself in the mirror and remind yourself, YOU are FEARFULLY and Wonderfully made. This is intentional.
So today—tell yourself you are uniquely created.

Daily affirmation #2: I am purposefully planted.
You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and I have a place and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit, and keep on bearing and that your fruit, will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask in my name as my representative he may give to you John 15:16
No matter how things seem. No matter how often the military wants to move us AGAIN. No matter how many times I will start new jobs. No matter how many women I would have to introduce myself to over and over again. None of that matters because God has a place we are meant to be planted. A place where we will bear fruit, and lasting fruit.
So every day I remind myself, I am PURPOSEFULLY planted.
We are not at our home church on accident; God has uniquely determined when and where we would place our roots. He knew the church leadership needed to help us mature and the community we would grow in. We choose to be planted through the seasons. So friends, dig in get your roots deep and accept God’s got you planted.
Before there was a world, God knew who I would be, where I would go, and how I would mature, I am protected by God. Speak kind over yourself and remind yourself YOU are purposefully planted.
Daily affirmation #3: I have God-created identity.
The enemy has seen a snapshot of our one true identity. Because of those small glimpses, he will do anything he can to keep us from walking in that truth. He wants us to believe the lies we are too weak, we are not smart enough, not capable, not pretty enough, not smart enough, and the list could go on and all. Every single statement is a lie.
Because hidden behind the lies of the enemy are the truths of God’s word;
- The enemy says you are weak; God says “We are designed to be strong, courageous and not be afraid.”
- The enemy may say you can’t do it: God says you are “able to do all thing through Him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13)
- The enemy says you are flawed, broken, and unloveable; God says He is “gracious and compassionate slow to anger and rich in love.” Psalm 145:8
- The enemy says your identity comes from what you have done; God says Your identity comes from what God has done for you.
Every day get a fight in you. Use these daily affirmations to remind yourself of who you are. Step up, determine today you will NOT live less of who God has called you to be. Walk boldly, do the hard things, and walk in truth. What God has placed in you is so valuable. IT’s time to step up, and let the light of Christ shine so bright through you and speak kind. You’ve kingdom work to do.
Cheering you on,
