Positive affirmations for back-to-school
Going back to school can be an exciting time for teachers, parents, and children. But sometimes, our excitement is also accompanied with stress, anxious thoughts, and fears.
If we are not careful, those anxious thoughts can start to take over our conversation. We begin to focus more on our fears instead of the potential of a new school year.
How we use our words matter. Today, we are going to focus on positive affirmations children, parents, and teachers can use throughout the school year.
So, what is an affirmation anyway?
Affirmations are short, intentional statements. We can use affirmations to help reinforce positive self-thoughts or reinforce negative, limiting beliefs. When used correctly, positive affirmations are an encouragement to help you readjust your mindset.
What affirmations are NOT?
Affirmations do not replace scripture. Affirmations can help align our thoughts with the truth of God’s word, but they do not replace the living, breathing word of Christ.
When to use affirmations?
Affirmations are great to repeat any time of the day. Say the statements out loud as often as you need. As a parent, you can say the affirmations aloud with your child or write them on notes.

As we are beginning a new school year, I have created a list of positive affirmations for children, affirmations for parents, and affirmations for teachers.
