7 gifts for moms that are not baby-related
Buying gifts for new moms that aren’t baby-related and that she is guaranteed to love just got easier with these 7 ideas.
Parents of newborns are often given everything they need to celebrate and take care of their new little one. From cute little onesies to stacks of much-needed pampers, baby items can quickly take over their home.
It’s easy to overlook the woman who just carried and delivered the little one.
Even though it’s easy to only ask about the baby, don’t ignore showering the new momma with love too. She needs her community and support now more than ever.
C’mon, let’s be real. If a mom with a newborn could have anything on a registry, it would be sleep, sleep, and more sleep. But since we cannot put sleep into a cute gift bag, finding the right gift to shower the new momma that is NOT baby-related isn’t always easy.
Clothes are out. No momma needs a reminder of a changing body with clothes that are too small, too tight, or make her feel blah. Plus, who wants to talk about size after having a baby?!?!
Time makes a difference too. I don’t know a new momma with extra time on her hands. With a new baby, she barely has time for a shower. The best gifts help her save time and make the most of the time she has.
As a momma who had three fellas five and under, I am truly appreciative for those who stepped in to shower me with gifts picked out just for me. Gifts that helped me remember to practice self-care, to focus on my mental health, and feed my spirit. Intentional gifts that helped me serve my family from overflow.
If you have a momma in your life with a new little one, even if this is baby number three, shower her with non-baby related gifts.
Not sure where to start? Check out these seven gift ideas for new moms that aren’t baby-related to help give you a place to start.
Gift idea #1: Cleaning services
Having a newborn creates new adjustments and challenges, even for seasoned moms. Trying to keep up with basic household chores can feel a little overwhelming. Giving the gift of cleaning services is a great gift. New parents can focus on their little one without stressing out about cleaning. Instead of spending time cleaning the bathroom or mopping the floors, the new mom can have more time for focus on adjusting to life with her little one.
Gift idea #2: Audible book club
Moms of new little ones who love to read usually don’t have open hands to pick up a book to read. That’s why audible book subscriptions like Libro.fm are a gem for the book- lover mom. You can choose from a monthly subscription or an A la carte listening option. Libro.fm makes it possible to purchase audiobooks through local bookstores, splitting their profits from your purchases with your local bookstore and putting money back into your community.
Gift idea #3: Spa gift set
As much as new moms want to get out for a break at their local spa, it can be hard for them to break away. When new moms can’t get to the spa, bring the spa to them. Purchasing spa gift sets, including some of their favorite items, is a welcomed gift. This gift set from Oasis Soul included shower aromatherapy steamers, jar candle, and room, body, linen mist spray.
Gift idea #4: Gratitude Journal
Gratitude journals are a helpful, practical journal and keepsake for new moms to focus on what she is grateful for in her everyday moments. Practicing gratitude helps moms focus on their journey’s beauty and see all the blessings in an easy-to-use journal. Plus, the Do Less, Live More: A Gratitude Journal becomes an excellent keepsake for generations to come.
Gift Idea #5: Mug and accessories
New mommas who live by their coffee or a cup of herbal tea would love a new mug from the Coaster This. Their mug and coaster sets bring a meaningful and inspirational message to her morning. When you purchase from Coaster This, each coaster is designed and handcrafted in-house. What unique way to encourage and uplift a new momma.
Gift Idea #6: Herbal Tea
Speaking of mugs and accessories, let’s talk about herbal teas that are sure to be a hit for any mom of little ones. When you have a momma who loves tea, Ivy’s Tea Co. is a must. Ivy’s Tea Co. is an organic line of locally-sourced, handcrafted teas. You can pick up a variety of tea blends, honey, and tea-inspired goodies—the perfect gift for new moms to relax and take care of herself.
Gift Idea #7: Meal service
Cooking becomes a lot harder when you have a new little one, especially if you have multiple children who need your care. As a momma who had three little ones, five and under, I get it. Cooking can be the last thing on your mind. Help take the guesswork out of cooking with a meal train and/or meal service. Send meals using UberEats, HelloFresh, or DoorDash goes a long way to help a mom with a little one. Remember, gift cards to these places also help.
